6 things we can learn from best agers
Best agers know how the world works. Could their declining need for loyalty be based on more life experience? In a representative survey of the population, LemonSwan and Statista found that young people can learn these six things from the older generation. Certified psychologist and LemonSwan love expert Andrea Simmer explains why.
Unfaithful tomatoes: Fidelity becomes less important in middle age
Zero-error policy: Best Agers have little tolerance for their partner's mistakes
You can count on me: They value reliability in a relationship
Intellect is sexy: Respondents aged 55 and older find education and status significantly more attractive than the younger generation
Well-mannered: They place greater value on good manners and sophistication
Because they are worth it: Appreciation is particularly important to them in a partnership
“The over-50s generation has a wealth of life experience. Golden agers have realized that love is faithful, but people are not. So behind the declining need for fidelity lies a clear awareness of reality,” explains LemonSwan love expert Simmer. “The older generation also no longer sees their partner's differences as enriching.
That's why their tolerance for mistakes is so low. Education and status play such a big
role because they know that a similar level of education leads to shared interests, preferences, and activities—the icing on the cake of a fulfilling relationship.”
It is precisely these similarities in characteristics, values, and interests that LemonSwan specifically uses as the basis for its matching process. The ideal foundation for a long-term happy relationship.
