Matchmaking service LemonSwan completes seed capital round

The dating agency for discerning women completes seed capital round

Arne Kahlke's new dating agency startup, LemonSwan, has successfully completed its first seven-figure equity round. Many well-known investors are helping him get the new swan off the ground.

LemonSwan was founded two years ago with the aim of establishing a dating agency that specifically meets the needs of women looking for a

life partner. To this end, the company has developed processes and a hand-picked profile review system that only allows singles with serious intentions to join the system.

Here, quality counts more than quantity. The company also has a heart for single parents and offers them the service free of charge. “We will use the fresh capital to expand our product and for marketing, initially in German-speaking countries,” says Arne Kahlke, CEO of LemonSwan. “Only a very small fraction of the 16 million singles in Germany use an online dating service. I see enormous potential here,” says the expert, who has named several market leaders in this segment over the past 17 years.

Entrepreneurs and funds invest in LemonSwan

“We believe in Arne Kahlke's concept and his team. He has proven time and again that it is possible to build an extremely profitable business in this market,” says Marc Del Din, managing director of NWZ Digital GmbH, the investment holding company of Nordwest-Zeitung. Other investors include Global Founders Capital, GMPVC German Media Pool, Benjamin Otto with BPO Capital, Felix Haas (Bits & Pretzels), Tim Schumacher (formerly Sedo), Rolf Schrömgens (Trivago) with Monkfish Equity, Jens Schumann (co-founder of Tipp24), Martin Dräger (Unruly Media GmbH), and Hans Cornehl (former CEO of Tipp24) are also among the investors. "The founder, team, and investors form an ideal constellation for this space.

The LemonSwan® principle is the best offering available on the market, which is still far from saturated. What more could you want?" – says Dr. Hans Cornehl.
