The LemonSwan method – How scientific matching works
We developed the LemonSwan® method to support people who are looking for a long-term happy relationship. Find out here what the LemonSwan® method is all about, what the personality test involves, and exactly how our matching process works.
Our scientific matching process – How to find a partner successfully!
Step 1: The personality test
Shared values and interests form the basis of a long-term relationship between equals. LemonSwan has developed the innovative LemonSwan® personality test in collaboration with renowned psychologist Prof. Dr. Peter Michael Bak. This test combines the latest scientific findings with the results of global studies on character and personality analysis conducted over the last 50 years. The LemonSwan® personality test identifies the specific components of your personality that are particularly important for a long-term relationship. The test is carried out at the beginning of your registration on the LemonSwan platform. It is free of charge and takes about 20-30 minutes.
Step 2: Analysis of your personality
Based on your answers in the personality test, your individual personality profile is then created. Have you opted for a premium membership? Then you will also receive a 35-page detailed e-book that provides exciting insights into your own personality and your attitude toward relationships. It also shows which partner might be right for you. It is not only important that you have a lot in common. Individual characteristics and differences also determine how well you are suited to a person.
Step 3: Matching with suitable members
The results of the personality analysis are then translated into matching points. A high score indicates a particularly stable common ground and thus a high probability that you are well suited to each other.
Step 4: Time to fall in love!
If you want to narrow down your partner suggestions even further, you can customize your search settings. As a Premium Member, you can filter your matching suggestions by distance from your place of residence, desire to have children, or smoking habits, for example.
And now it's time to get active. Have fun finding a partner!
How many matching points does it take to be a good match?
Does your partner suggestion have 100 matching points or more? Then you can rejoice: you are a good match! From this number of points onwards, we speak of a high degree of compatibility and a good chance of a happy partnership. From 115 points onwards, your matching result is outstanding! And from 120 points onwards, you should definitely get in touch! Then you really have a perfect match!
The core principles of the LemonSwan® method – scientific foundations
The LemonSwan® method developed by Professor Dr. Peter Michael Bak is a multidimensional process. Its goal is to reliably identify personalities that complement each other optimally.
The LemonSwan® method describes the recording and scientific combination of specific personality traits in comparison with validated long-term forecasts. This selection process is our matching procedure.
The “Big Five” – important personality traits
But what exactly is our testing procedure and personality analysis based on? We rely on internationally recognized scientific findings from personality research. We base our approach on five personality traits that science refers to as the “Big Five”. These five personality traits capture the main dimensions of human character that are particularly important for a long-term happy relationship. Specifically, these are:
1. Emotionality
2. Openness
3. Responsibility
4. Extraversion
5. Agreeableness
The 7 most important topics for a successful partner search
Your views on the following seven areas of life and topics are particularly relevant for mutual sympathy and a long-term relationship. That is why they form the basis for our scientific matching:
1. Values/morals
2. Attitudes
3. Relationship style
4. Interests
5. Leisure activities
6. Living and interior design
7. Food and drink
We summarize your personal attitude toward these seven areas of life and topics under your “relationship personality.” Based on your relationship personality and your personality analysis, we can then make suitable partner suggestions for you.
